About This Business
I’ve visited a few fence companies in the Tucson area and Canyon Fence Company exceeded my expectations. When I arrived I was greeted by a very nice receptionist who suggest I speak with one of the senior salesman (who’s worked for the business for the past 30 years). He was a fencing aficionado. He knew everything about all the products they carry/manufacture, and gave me a terrific tour of the facility.
As usual, I had a bunch of questions which he adroitly addressed. I came away with a real education in fencing. There are a lot of types, styles, configurations, etc. (just in the standard fencing lines alone).
Another one of Canyon’s specialties is custom fabricated fences and gates. I think these metal workers (or should I say artisans) really like their jobs. I saw skilled craftsman performing magic with metal. A fence was no longer “just a fence” after seeing what these guys do best.
As we walked the yard the salesman told me that as he drives around town he keeps saying to himself, “we did that fence, we did that one too, I recognize that fence”. In 33 years of business Canyon Fence Company has installed a LOT of fencing products in the greater Tucson area. Most of the employees have worked there for years. “They never leave”, said my guide as he walked me through the entire operation.
Here’s a list of the fencing products they offer:
- Chain Link (with or without privacy slats & with or without barded wire and/or razor wire toppers)
- Custom Fabricated Steel & Wrought Iron
- Ornamental Iron
- Vinyl & Composite
- Wood (including ranch style)
- Security
- Barbed Wire
- Corrals
- Shades (an open structure with posts and a roof that might be made of corrugated fencing to shade livestock or anything else for that matter)
- Corrugated (galvanized & non-galvanized – the type that will rust over time)
- Gate & Entry Systems
For the DIYer they sell fencing as well. It’s a great place to buy chain link – they stock all the parts necessary to put everything together. They also sell chain link slats (in a variety of colors) to create privacy, block sun and wind, etc..
Have a look at their Facebook page (click on the link in this listing) to see a whole host of projects they’ve done. As you’ll see, they don’t just supply fencing, they install it too.
My final thoughts – I got the feeling after my visit concluded that Canyon Fence Company had figured out what’s important to stay in business. Things like; attention to detail; using quality materials; high workmanship standard; and a focus on customer service & satisfaction. You can’t stay in business for 33 years if you’re not doing something right. My guess is that they’ve been doing just that for a long, long time.
