About This Business
If you’re looking for pavers this is definitely a place you want to check out. We were on a mission to build a patio for our outdoor BBQ grill and sitting area. I’ve gone to a lot of other local landscape supply companies in search of pavers, but the selection at Border Construction is impressive.
One of the things I liked most was that one of the sales reps gave me a grand tour of their yard. He showed me so many options that it was almost impossible for me to choose. But I finally narrowed it down to something I liked, brought my wife back to get her feedback and before I knew it our car was loaded (one of their nice yardmen drove a fork lift with a pallet of pavers near to our car and meticulously loaded them in the back).
We have a smaller SUV and could only take one “layer” at a time. When we came back again for another layer and got the same superb service from another yard employee. These guys were super friendly and made the process enjoyable.
And lest I forget, we also got great customer service and help I got from the order desk. At the time, two nice women were helping the “trade” (professional contractors). I didn’t have to wait long before one of them asked how she could help and the process was seamless from the paperwork to the payment.
Once I got my paperwork, I took it to an area in their warehouse where I was met by a forklift driver. He told me to bring my car into the yard (an easy task … no gates to navigate through) and follow him to the section where my pavers were waiting (in huge stacked pallets wrapped in plastic). He snagged a pallet, positioned it near my car with his machine, unwrapped the plastic (to keep the pavers in place) and the rest was history. He led the way with his forklift out of the yard. I was a happy camper and on my way home. And as a quick note, some pavers are sold as individual pieces and some are sold by “layers” (typically 30 or 32 pieces). You’ll have to ask a sales associate which applies to what you’ve chosen.
But it’s not just pavers that Border’s stocks. They’ve been around since 1955 (with more than 27 locations) and carry concrete accessories, masonry supplies & tools, safety products, and other things too. Toward that end, while getting the lay of the land as I walked through the yard with the sales rep. I saw some beautiful flagstone slabs (sold by the pound), concrete blocks, retaining wall blocks, etc. They also sell a nice selection of stone veneers. And if you’re a real DIYer, they sell bags of premixed concrete, mortar, and Portland cement; stucco and grouts; silica sands; and landscape fabric. Need some tools for that masonry project … they sell those too.
We were very pleased with the quality of the pavers we bought and were impressed with just how many masonry products they stock. Make sure to get a comprehensive tour of the yard before you make any decisions. You may have your heart set on something that you saw on their outside sample displays, but may find something even better when you have a look at ALL they have to offer in the yard.
I found Border Construction Specialties worth the trip!
