Pottery Blow Out has been around for 20 years. At any one time it carries somewhere in the neighborhood of 12k – 14k pots and other accessory items like wrought iron potter stands, metal sculpture art, pot saucers, etc. It also has an extensive selection of Talavera. The vast majority of the pots are high fire glaze (up to 50 glazes) that come in sizes from a few inches in diameter to full size tree planters up to 50″ around. Also offered are vases that are up to 60″ tall. The pots come from 12 countries around the world.
They also have a price match guarantee. Find the exact same pot elsewhere and Potter Blow Out will meet their price. “Pottery Blow Out claims to have Arizona’s largest and most affordable pottery selection”. I’m not sure about that claim, as I’ve visited other pottery stores in the Tuson area that have very large selections, but I can tell you this, you won’t be disappointed when you walk into the store. Their variety and size is a little daunting. You should be able to find what you’re looking for. That said, they do not specialize in Terra Cotta. As the owner told me, he has seen a quality issue in the industry. He is currently sourcing new manufacturers and hopes to offer a selection in the future.
When I met the owner he was incredibly helpful. The customer service was great. He also has a staff of several employees that know their stuff.
With an ocean of choices, you’re likely to walk away with something. Even if you’re just browsing, the ideas that it will generate are almost endless. I like the store layout and the yard organization. It is laid out by product category and size and it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. They also offer special, so keep an eye on their website for savings.
Would I visit them in my quest for pottery? You bet.
PS. They are closed for major holidays.
