About This Business
Industrial Metal Supply Company was started in 1948 in California from the back of station wagon and an entrepreneur who’s first sales were scrap metal. Still a family owned business, the family has grown the company into 6 locations (4 in California, 1 in Phoenix, and 1 in Tucson).
If you’re looking for a treasure trove of metal products including steel, aluminum, copper, stainless steel, brass and specialty metals (including tread plate and expanded & perforated sheet) then you’ve come to the right place. They also offer custom cutting services, so you’re bound to get the right size and dimensions you’re looking for.
When I first arrived, I thought it must be for the “trades” only. I saw a lot of commercial vehicles, landscape trailers and the like. But don’t be fooled, they are open to the general public. As soon as I walked through the front door I felt right at home. The sales staff was incredibly helpful not only in guiding me to the right area of the store to find exactly what I wanted, but they gave me the price of the material, including the cutting charge (I needed a custom piece of plate steel for an outdoor project) before I laid my credit card down. In less than 15 minutes I heard my name called and I was out the door.
Rods, tubes, sheets, plates, bars, angled stock, and ornamental shapes are just the tip of the iceberg. They even have a full selection of welding and plasma cutting tools, along with all the clothing and protective gear necessary to do metal fabrication work. Want a book on how to work with metals, they have that too. And how about some chemicals to turn a piece of shiny steel rusty or give copper that green weathered look. They’ve got these products as well. I was like a kid in a candy store.
Clean, professional and helpful. You can’t go wrong with a visit to Industrial Metal Supply Co. It’s definitely worth a trip.
