Sundays in the Garden | Michael Nigro

Join us for our annual Sundays in the Garden Spring Concert Series featuring the music of Michael Nigro. The concert is free with admission and free for members as one of the many amazing membership benefits.

Be sure to visit the cash bar for beer and wine, prickly pear lemonade, and our famous prickly pear margaritas. Treat yourself to a wonderful afternoon outdoors, sipping wine, and listening to live music. Seating is limited, so please arrive early. The concert series is brought you in part by the Tucson Guitar Society. Please note performers are subject to change.

 

 

About Michael Anthony Nigro

As an international concert artist Mr. Nigro has given concerts and master classes for numerous universities, performing arts centers, church concert series, guitar societies, libraries, and museums, including concert tours in Argentina, Chile, France, Bulgaria, Greece, and the Philippines.

As a recording artist, his discography includes a total of 6 CD’s: 3 solo recordings, 2 recordings with guitar and flute, and most recently Tucson Guitar Quartet’s debut CD, Latin American
Soundscapes.

For 12 years, Michael was an Assistant Professor of Music at Vanguard University where he established a thorough and comprehensive guitar program that graduated many notable students.

Presently, Michael works for the Academy of Math in Science in Tucson, AZ where he teaches classical guitar classes to elementary and middle school students. He is also on the faculty at the
Bangalore Conservatory in India.

Michael holds a Master of Music degree in Guitar Performance from California State University, Fullerton and a Bachelor of Music degree in Guitar Performance from Indiana University, Bloomington. His principle teachers were David Grimes and Ernesto Bitetti. He is an active member of the guitar community; he is co-founder of the Long Beach Classical Guitar Society, co-author of “The Essential Classical Guitar Scale Book,” published on Mel Bay, and reviewer of new music publications for Soundboard.
