Downtown for Dummies

January 9, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm MST

$10 – $14

Rarely travel south of River Road? You don’t know what you’re missing! Downtown Tucson is the place to be for history, architecture, museums, restaurants, and a true pedestrian experience. Who better than local historian and preservationist, Ken Scoville to teach us how to navigate downtown, pinpoint the top attractions and give us tips on making jury duty or paying our property taxes painless? Ken will discuss what we think of today as “downtown” and examine the physical features, major events, and cyclical changes that have led to its renaissance today. He’ll also deal with the basics like finding parking, City Hall, shopping, and restaurants, all to make you a pro the next time you have out-of-town visitors and want to show off the best of downtown!

Please note, this is a class about downtown Tucson not a walking tour.
