Join us in the gallery for an Artist Talk with Dana Smith! Dana will share her process for creating her larger than life sculptures and drawings. The talk will be followed by a question and answer session.
Dana’s work is currently featured in the Entry Gallery. Sonoran Desert: A Model for Surviving the Sixth Extinction brings attention to armored desert microorganisms and insects who have learned to adapt to extreme heat and long-term drought. Because our future environment will be one of extremes and hellish conditions, these resilient creatures have a lot to teach us. We can learn from their secrets as we enter the era of the Anthropocene, and concern arises over our own adaptability.
