Capture what you see in 25 minutes or less using a water soluble pen\, 4×6 inch pad\, and a small paint set. This three-day workshop includes basic technique anyone can learn\, working ‘on location’ in the gardens\, plus technique from John Singer Sargent. Ideal for timid beginners who want to fearlessly paint in public\, and for experienced artists who want total portability\, speed\, and no clean-up. Cost includes all supplies; if you already have supplies take advantage of the reduced price (list emailed on request from khayes@tohonochul.org). The colorful trickster is often seen howling at the moon or involved in other wily antics. In this two-day workshop with Sandy Villegas of Luna’s Paper Designs you will learn how to make your own Mexican Folk Art coyote with papier-mâché\, and you will paint it with bright colors and designs. In the first session you will make a character from scratch with paper\, papier-mâché\, and paper clay. The following week (once your creation is dry) you will learn about Mexican Folk Art and how to design symbols and flowers for your coyote. All materials are provided. SUMMARY:Chair Yoga in the Gardens
DESCRIPTION:This outdoor class with Mary Carhuff is ideal for anyone who struggles with earth (floor) poses. Mary is a Certified Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist. This balance focused class is broken up into 30 minutes of seated yoga followed by 30 minutes of standing poses using the chair for balance. Chairs will be provided. All are encouraged to practice at their own pace and modifications will be demonstrated. Please dress in layers. Stroll the grounds afterwards and take in the beauty of the gardens in spring! \n$10 members | $10 plus cost of admission for the general public  \nStudents pay instructor directly | Preregistration not required
