I was drawn to art beyond being content to just appreciate it\, but during my working career making time for art seemed a luxury to be put on hold for the future. Somehow I found jewelry making and fell in love with it. It enabled me to work with color\, design\, and texture\, it was a great stress-reliever\, an outlet for my creativity\, and it nurtured my soul. When I became a member of an artists’ co-op in Colorado Springs\, I was constantly admiring the work created by the glass artists there\, and one day one of them offered to teach me how to fuse glass. I was hooked. Creating fused glass art has taught me to appreciate all art even more than I did before. It is always a learning experience. But when everything goes right\, the end result brings me joy and nurtures my soul\, as I always hope it will for those who see my art. Learning\, enjoying and creating art is an ongoing journey. Each new piece guides its own design and helps me grow as an artist. I love it \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRefund & Cancellation Policy\nNo refund will be issued less than 15 days prior to any Community Class. See list of materials needed below description. \n\n\nThis class is a great introduction to watercolor techniques for botanical art. We will explore Fall Foliage through a unique medium that has been used by artists and illustrators throughout the years. When the seasons change into fall\, depending on where you live\, leaves from trees and shrubs will transform into a variety of beautiful colors such as yellow\, orange\, and red! In the first 20 min of the workshop\, we will explore basic watercolor techniques to get us warmed up. She specializes in various traditional mediums including her favorite\, watercolor in which she has taught in workshops and classes at the Denali Education Center and The Drawing Studio. Her work has been displayed in various galleries in Arizona\, Alaska\, and California. Antoinette studied illustration and design at the University of Arizona\, receiving her degree in Visual Communication. This group includes some of the most beautiful birds in the world\, some of the most elusive\, and some others that have been released around the world as quarry for hunters. Join us for a look at these fascinating creatures! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructor \nJeff Babson\n\n\nJeff Babson is an all-around naturalist\, with particular interest in birds\, butterflies\, moths\, beetles and dragonflies.  \nOwner of Sky Island Tours\, an environmental education and eco-tour company\, Jeff has led birding tours for the Tucson Botanical Gardens\, Pima County Department of Natural Resources\, Parks and Recreation\, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum\, and several birding festivals in southern Arizona (Wings over Willcox\, Southwest Wings\, Tucson Birding and Nature Festival). DESCRIPTION:@ 			\n			\n							 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Here\n\n$65 Non-Member / $52 Member \n\nMaterials provided \n\n\nPaint a holly themed fused glass tile in the spirit of the Holidays.  Paint them in traditional greens and reds or paint them in bright colors and appreciate the joy of a unique palette.  All materials provided.  Tiles are ready to hang when painting is finished.  Each tile is approximately 12” by 7”. \nClass capacity is 16 – register early! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructor \nDee Taube\n\n\nI have always loved art\, so while growing up I took all the art classes that were offered in school. I was drawn to art beyond being content to just appreciate it\, but during my working career making time for art seemed a luxury to be put on hold for the future. Somehow I found jewelry making and fell in love with it. It enabled me to work with color\, design\, and texture\, it was a great stress-reliever\, an outlet for my creativity\, and it nurtured my soul. When I became a member of an artists’ co-op in Colorado Springs\, I was constantly admiring the work created by the glass artists there\, and one day one of them offered to teach me how to fuse glass. I was hooked. Creating fused glass art has taught me to appreciate all art even more than I did before. It is always a learning experience. But when everything goes right\, the end result brings me joy and nurtures my soul\, as I always hope it will for those who see my art. Learning\, enjoying and creating art is an ongoing journey. Each new piece guides its own design and helps me grow as an artist. I love it \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRefund & Cancellation Policy\nNo refund will be issued less than 15 days prior to any Community Class. See list of materials needed below description. \n\n\nLearn to draw and paint beautiful poinsettias with illustrator and artist\, Devon Meyer.  Emphasis will be on drawing and painting skills and creating volume in our subject. No experience required. \nPlease provide your own art materials.  \nMaterials List: paper\, pencil\, watercolor paper\, watercolor paints\, brushes (round and flat if possible)\, water. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructor \nDevon Meyer\n\n\nAs an artist\, Devon is constantly inspired by nature. The elaborate patterns and gorgeous colors seen in plants\, birds or flowers are reflected in the work she does. For all experience levels. Please provide your own art materials. \nMaterials to Bring: \n\nMicron permanent ink pens (or other brand\, but must be permanent). Sizes .005\, .01\, .02\, .03 or heavier if you prefer.\nPencils for sketching out your drawing\ngum eraser\nwatercolor paints\npaint brushes (round and flat if possible)\nlight source for shadow on subject (e.g. small flashlight\, or you may use your cell phone flashlight if you have a smartphone)\n\nMaterials Provided: \n\nTBG will provide tracing paper and Bristol paper\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructor \nJoan McGann\n\n\nJoan McGann earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Wichita State University and a Certificate of Excellence from the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Art Institute\, Nature Illustration Program. She has exhibited in gardens and galleries throughout the United States. Current works in botanical illustration have an emphasis on plants native to the Sonoran Desert. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation at Carnegie Mellon University\, the Shirley Sherwood Collection at Kew Gardens\, London\, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and in private collections.
