Jennifer has a bachelor’s in veterinary science from the University of Arizona and an associate of science from Penn Foster College’s Veterinary Technician Program. She is also currently working on her Master’s in Veterinary Education from Lincoln Memorial University. She was the program director for a veterinary technician school in Tucson Arizona for 11 years prior to joining the Appalachian State University Veterinary Technology program as it’s Assistant Director. Jennifer has written two veterinary technician textbooks for Bluedoor Publishing on pharmacology and large animal medicine and nursing and contributed to several others. In addition to teaching and writing\, she is a firm believer in giving back to the community and serves on the board of directors for three animal welfare and rescue groups. When I became a member of an artists’ co-op in Colorado Springs\, I was constantly admiring the work created by the glass artists there\, and one day one of them offered to teach me how to fuse glass. I was hooked. Creating fused glass art has taught me to appreciate all art even more than I did before. It is always a learning experience. But when everything goes right\, the end result brings me joy and nurtures my soul\, as I always hope it will for those who see my art. Learning\, enjoying and creating art is an ongoing journey. We will explore Fall Foliage through a unique medium that has been used by artists and illustrators throughout the years. When the seasons change into fall\, depending on where you live\, leaves from trees and shrubs will transform into a variety of beautiful colors such as yellow\, orange\, and red! In the first 20 min of the workshop\, we will explore basic watercolor techniques to get us warmed up.
