These animals are easy to recognize\, but separating the two groups is a bit harder than is often assumed. As with birds\, frogs and toads can be identified by their calls and we will play audio recordings of each species. Join us as we explore the surprising diversity of Arizona’s frogs and toads\, including their identification\, life cycle\, distribution\, and other aspects of their biology. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructor \nJeff Babson\n\n\nJeff Babson is an all-around naturalist\, with particular interest in birds\, butterflies\, moths\, beetles and dragonflies.  \nOwner of Sky Island Tours\, an environmental education and eco-tour company\, Jeff has led birding tours for the Tucson Botanical Gardens\, Pima County Department of Natural Resources\, Parks and Recreation\, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum\, and several birding festivals in southern Arizona (Wings over Willcox\, Southwest Wings\, Tucson Birding and Nature Festival). He lives in Vail with his wife and two children. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRefund & Cancelation Policy\nNo refund will be issued less than 15 days prior to any Community Class. DESCRIPTION:THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN CANCELLED \n  \nJoin Tohono Chul’s Public Programs Manager Kayleigh Kozyra in creating your very own block printing stamp – and take home a customized tote bag with your design printed on it! Block printing is one of the oldest methods of printing designs onto textiles and can be easily added to your own artist toolkit. Learn how to create and carve one of several provided designs (or try and create your own)\, ink your block\, and print designs onto fabric or paper. Wipe or rinse your block and it can be used over and over. All skill levels and ages are welcome to participate\, and all materials are provided. Participants will take home their very own stamp and tote bag. \nThis class will take place in Education Center Classroom 1.

As this meal is not complete without the presence of soft handmade flour tortillas\, the class will take a quick dive into this Sonoran staple. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructor \nMinerva Orduño Rincón\n\n\nMinerva Orduño Rincón trained and worked as an architect before redirecting into the culinary field where she has spent the last decade. She was born and raised in Hermosillo\, in the northern Mexican state of Sonora\, lived in southern Spain\, and in various cities throughout the US. Her primary culinary focus is on Sonoran food and the hybridization of cuisines and cultures in the borderland region. She has written for the Phoenix New Times as well as various online publications. She specializes in various traditional mediums including her favorite\, watercolor in which she has taught in workshops and classes at the Denali Education Center and The Drawing Studio. Her work has been displayed in various galleries in Arizona\, Alaska\, and California. Antoinette studied illustration and design at the University of Arizona\, receiving her degree in Visual Communication.
