See list of materials needed below description. \n\n\nThis class is a great introduction to drawing and pen techniques using botany as our main subject. The specific theme for this class: Marigolds. The tools and techniques shared in this workshop are beneficial to creating beautiful florals from the marigold variety in ink. After we explore the breakdown of desert marigolds\, Tagetes Lucida\, and Tagetes erecta\, we will learn how to use composition to create a final piece with all three. \nMain Concepts: \n\nContour drawing \nBreaking down subjects into basic shapes\nVariety of Pen Strokes\nLine Control/Hand & Eye Coordination\n\nMaterials Needed: \n\n2H or 2B pencil\, eraser (Streader)\, kneaded eraser & ruler\nPens (Copic Multi-liners or Micron) #.1\, .3\, & .5 \n9”x12” Paper (Illustration board\, mixed media paper or sketchbook)\n8.5”x11” plain printer paper or sketchbook for warmups\nPhotos of marigold varieties \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructor \nAdela Antoinette\n\n\nAdela Antoinette (She/Her) is a published illustrator\, designer and makeup artist. As a southwest born desert dweller\, Antoinette’s work primarily centers on Sonoran Desert flora but fluctuates within botany through visiting different regions across the states. She specializes in various traditional mediums including her favorite\, watercolor in which she has taught in workshops and classes at the Denali Education Center and The Drawing Studio. Her work has been displayed in various galleries in Arizona\, Alaska\, and California. Antoinette studied illustration and design at the University of Arizona\, receiving her degree in Visual Communication. She is a Tucson\, Arizona artist currently living in New York City. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRefund & Cancellation Policy\nNo refund will be issued less than 15 days prior to any Community Class. A $10 cancellation fee will be applied to all refunds. No refunds will be issued for special events. \nWe reserve the right to cancel Community Classes due to insufficient registration\, garden closure\, or inclement weather\, in which case\, participants will receive a full refund.
